Federal Minister Thomas Drozda, friend and promoter of the European Tolerance Talks, signed the Freach Freedom Declaration Charter in the presence of Hannes Swoboda and Peter Nageler from Think.Tank.Fresach. For Drozda, the declaration, adopted in June, is a great opportunity to put the concept of freedom and civil liberties on a new basis for understanding. Drozda has been Federal Minister for Arts and Culture, Constitution and Media since 2016. On the occasion of the European Tolerance Talks in 2017, the Minister stressed that tolerance is a contribution to freedom. Tolerance is an imperfect virtue, because you allow something that you might think is wrong. Thus, truth and tolerance are always skeptical. It is also the great contribution of tolerance to freedom. It is a condition for articulating and discussing competing truth claims. Thus, freedom of expression as a basic democratic law is conceivable. Photo: Christopher Dunker
